tomcat - Java Datasource Management via WebApp -

Currently, we dataset definition to server. Inside the XML, the contents are stored in the container and expose the environmental variable through context.

At any time we change an environment variable or a data source, requiring the restart of a server to make these changes live.

Is there any way we can create a web application to manage these things? Refer them to the server. Instead of storing it in Xml and server.xml files, we can store them in a different file and can be modified through the webpage. When an app wants a data source, it can request it via the webapp (probably via message). I thought about revising the Jndy elements on runtime and had saved the changes in a file, but found that Tomcat does not allow it.

If this is not clear, then with the technologies involved, I have only a short experience, but want to move towards one direction. I would not want to do anything and follow the standards.

Is it OK to be a webapp, which handles global data sources and global variable management? To request these items via message? If not, what are some better options?

OK, you could use the Tomcat "Admin" package, if it exists but Then, it was never posted correctly to tell how the admin tool will be right.

In the meantime, you may possibly use MBNs exposed by tomatkets, although I am not sure to be useful for something useful. / P>
