I'm trying to merge two .nib files. File Merge has no problem showing the comparison of two files. I am trying to put all the settings in one file (i.e. right), except for two settings that I want to copy from the second file (i.e. on the left side ). The differences are only a line of code, which changes the integer values of each autresizing mask key. Therefore it should not be difficult to merge. I'll use TextEdit if I would allow to open an .nib file.
Although I get the error "This file type can not be merged." I tried to play with file merges> preferences> filter settings for file energ extensions mentioned in the answer to the same question posted on this site, but there was no luck in it. As far as I can tell, the display setting should be left in the form of a "for." Filter, because it is not unfiltered and it is not readable and I tried to toggling selection selection, I think the experiment Should not the actual filter done be changed or be modified?
Is there any common cause for two .iib files, there is no problem with file merge visible in the Comparative Window?
Thanks
NIB and XIB files can not be merged, though It can be tempting to be Using a file merge can be useful for viewing a diff, but can only be used to inform you about the types of changes that you manually recreate in the interface builder.
In addition, the file does not show the actual text difference of the MEG NIB files, but rather the output from ibtool you can see the actual text difference by removing the entry for NIB in file merging preferences, Not saved between launch.
