I was wondering if anyone has some ideas for a dissertation, I have to do it for the university. Will be a 12-month project and I would probably like to do something in C ++ but I'm open to doing anything. I was thinking about exploring Ai but was not sure.

I recommend you to find people who work in this area in your university and Ask for project suggestions. You will eventually eventually end up with Any Uni as any supervisor, so why not contact them immediately?
On the other hand, if you really want some tips, then look at several Air India competitions that are on the web.
